About the Event
Join us for the first and hopefully last official 19k (11.8 miles) COVID-19K! You can run, walk, bike, or row or a combo of anything, outside or inside, to get you to 19K.
The COVID-19K will be completed remotely by each participant but everyone will start at the same time in their separate locations. This is a fun way to come together as a community to support those on the front lines battling the Coronavirus.
All proceeds will be going to Lunches for Clinicians to provide meals to the medical professionals working long hours to keep us healthy + safe.
The COVID-19K will be completed separately, but together at the same time. Participants will complete their own 19K course remotely on their own. But all participants will start at the same time in their separate locations.
Date: June 6th and 7th
Participants can choose to complete the 19K in one day or spread it out over the two separate days. Participates can complete their 19K on a treadmill, bike, elliptical, rowing machine, or whatever piece of cardio equipment you have access to. If the federal and state laws allow you can choose to complete your 19K outdoors.
The COVID-19K will start on June 6th at 8:00 AM central standard time (CST). Participants are encouraged to post videos and comments on The COVID-19K Facebook event page and tag their Instagram posts using #TheCOVID19K.
Don’t want to run?
We encourage those who don’t want to complete the 19K to cheer the participants on. You can show your support by donating and/or posting videos and commenting on The COVID-19K Facebook event page to support your friend and family members who are participating.
Together, let’s run this virus out of town!
